I don't know if I could've handled a young "McDreamy" kind of doctor.

I never thought of pregnant teenagers like that before. Man, what a crazy case of emotions! Poor teenagers. Maybe I should start watching that MTV show... 16 and pregnant?

We had an old wooden rocking chair. I'm so envious of those with nice gliders. I'm thinking I need one for #2.

We had an audio monitor for the first little bit, then we got a hand-me-down BEAST of a video monitor. Definitely from the '90s. Or probably 2000s because I don't think they had them in the 90s. Anyways, IT IS AMAZING! Seriously. Every time the baby cries (especially when you get to the point of doing the terrible "cry-it-out" method) you don't have to run in after about 3 minutes wondering if their foot is stuck out or if they are suffocating because they suddenly stopped crying. I'm convinced that it is the best thing ever.

We also did what Michelle is planning on doing. We had a pack-n-play by the bed for the first few months and then pushed her into her crib after that. It worked really well and then we have travel crib!

Good luck!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13255256188403668222noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5815664897641942884.post-29321296384267356432015-03-12T09:08:40.926-07:002015-03-12T09:08:40.926-07:00Well. I've wanted one of those for ages but I keep putting it off because it's not cheap and I'm afraid it'll just sit in a drawer, never getting used, because if I keep desserts around they're gone within 2 days and I'm trying to be healthy and crap.Angihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00394336849612797834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5815664897641942884.post-78708295315662281422015-03-12T07:51:58.226-07:002015-03-12T07:51:58.226-07:00I have so many things to say it's insane. The ...I have so many things to say it's insane. The comment might be as long as the post.

1. The "how are you feeling?" gets OLD. I know people are being nice so I don't hold it against them, but I've found that saying "tired and miserable" paired with a death glare shuts people up quickly.
2. If an intern tries to help with my birth I will swear like a sailor. I want to die enough when it's just my doctor doing her thing, but students? No. I'm already stressing about the medical staff in the delivery room.
3. I just started watching Friday Night Lights. I haven't even gotten through the pilot yet because I keep getting distracted. like last night, for instance. I watched about 5 minutes until I found myself fiddling with the record player (hipster mom) and reorganizing the bookshelves.
4. I want to throw up every time I step on the scale. I refuse to even calculate how much I've gained. I think my doctor's office has a skewed number, because by my first appointment I had already lost 10 pounds from morning sickness. And calculating it from that weight instead of my actual pre-pregnancy weight is truly terrifying. These are the things that keep me up at night.
5. A car accident?!?! Oh my gosh. I'm so glad you and baby are ok. That's been one of my biggest fears and I've had some close calls.
6. Tuesday really was a horrible day. And the hormones? I hear you. I've been a basket case lately. I woke up crying yesterday over the fact that my life is changing. I had a total meltdown before I even crawled out of bed.
7. KITCHEN AID ICE CREAM ATTACHMENT. Not a want, a need.
8. I need an ottoman for our rocker but I can't find one that isn't the cost of our grocery budget. I hope the one you found is indeed the one.
9. No blackout curtains here! Or a sound machine! Or a video baby monitor. We got an audio one because we are old-fashioned like that. I am also totally with you on teaching the baby neglect at a young age. Everyone I've talked to seems to think the baby should be in your room for at least 6 months. No thanks! As for what to sleep in, we got a pack and play that can be set up as a bassinet for when she's a newborn, and then we can use it as a normal pack and play for years after. It seemed the best bang for our buck. A baby grows out of a bassinet in 5 seconds. I've been told over and over that a baby won't sleep without a Rock n Play, but I was not about to buy another baby gadget that only lasts several months, and I like to remind people that babies learned to sleep for centuries before these new-fangled gadgets. With that said, a friend is letting me borrow her rock n play. I'm going to try not to use it at night as I'm rebellious in nature and want to prove to the world that babies can, in fact, sleep in cribs and such. And let's all watch me eat my words in a few months.
Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01155303404223970814noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5815664897641942884.post-33556577050430395542015-03-12T06:31:06.978-07:002015-03-12T06:31:06.978-07:00I had so many comments as I was reading through, b...I had so many comments as I was reading through, but I forgot them all by the time I got to the end.
